Simulator Training

Frasca Reconfigurable Training Device (RTD)

The Frasca RTD is an FAA approved Advanced Aviation Training Device (AATD).

The RTD can be configured as a G1000 equipped or analog six-pack, CE172S. It is the NXi version which provides for RNAV approaches to LPV minimums, VNAV en-route and the GFC700 with a flight director. The Frasca RTD uses real Garmin G1000 NXi software, assuring users they are learning correct procedures and habits as all menu selections and button pushes are performed in the RTD exactly as they should be performed in the aircraft.
The AATD can be used for up to 20 hours towards instrument rating training under Part 61 and about 90% of an Instrument Proficiency Check (IPC). It can also be used for instrument currency without instructor supervision. Additionally, the AATD can be used for up to 2.5 hours towards Private Pilot initial qualification.

Introduction to Flight & Building Skill Sets

Our Gleim Virtual Cockpit is an ideal platform for introducing new student pilots to the basic principles and procedures of flight. It is robust enough to give seasoned and experienced pilots an affordable alternative to actual flight costs when training for their next check ride or ratings exam.  Designed and built by Gleim, a world-wide recognized leader in aviation education, this system is very capable of pushing the envelope within scenario-based training.  An Intel based computer, driving crisp and convincing graphics powered by Nvidia, delivers an immersive and feature rich experience through Laminar Research’s X-Plane 11 Simulator software.  From basic pattern work to cross country prep, or IFR proficiency, to learning the ropes of controlled airports and/or airspace, and many more scenarios in between, the Gleim Virtual Cockpit has you covered.
G1000 Legacy & NXi Systems Trainer

Our Garmin Systems Trainer gets you into the world of G1000 & NXi.  Initial training sessions build a foundation of knowledge preparing you to integrate these modern EFIS platforms into your aviation skill sets.  Utilizing actual Garmin factory software, you are introduced to what G1000 and NXi are all about and what they are capable of.  During training sessions, you will not have to concentrate on flying the aircraft, you will focus on methodology and workflow of either system, learning how to control these powerful avionics suites, while a simulated flight is underway from takeoff to touchdown.  This unit is VERY cost effective, efficient, and risk free, learning on the ground before you ever take flight.  For initial and transition training this is the entry point simulator once you leave the classroom.  Once you are up to speed and comfortable you can move to our G1000 Simulator to bring together your new found knowledge and tie it together with you flying experience, then finishing off by heading to the flight line.
G1000 Simulator

Our G1000 Flight Simulator, designed and built by Flight 1 Aviation Technologies, is totally hands-on. It is a full size, full scale, 100% tactile interaction, providing immersive training with functional integrity.  Whether you’re just starting out on the G1000 as a student pilot or transitioning from an analog six pack to a G1000 equipped aircraft, or it has been awhile and needing to bush up your skill sets within it, we have the best equipment along with the best instructors available anywhere!
Garmin Cross-Training Simulator

Built upon the foundation of the proven Gleim Virtual Cockpit, and then expanded to include four family lines of Garmin product, Ortega Aviation has designed a “one of kind” flight deck.  You are unlikely to encounter an aircraft sporting an instrument panel with the Garmin 400, 500, 600, and 700 series product lines all at the same time.  This purpose-built simulator is designed around the concept of cross training from the old to the new.  The 400 and 500 series Garmin units are some of the most prolific in older General Aviation aircraft out there today, yet advances in technology and software have given birth to the 600 and 700 series in recent years.  This simulator gives you the opportunity to transition from the older family line to the new ones, in real time, all at the same time!  If you are seeking a Garmin upgrade in your current aircraft, or possibly trading up aircraft to one equipped with the newer 600 and 700 series, we have the training solution for you before you ever take flight for the first time with that new panel.
